General Dentistry

Cleanings & Exams:

This includes periodontal charting, digital bitewing x-rays, cleaning, polishing, and cavity detection. We recommend a routine cleaning with Dr. Michaels every six months for the best protection for your teeth.

Dental Sealants:

Dental Sealants are used to prevent decay by applying white teeth colored coatings on top of the molars to prevent decay. Ask Dr. Michaels if he recommends sealants for you.

Tooth Colored Fillings:

White fillings, better known as composite or tooth-colored fillings, are offered at Oconomowoc Dental Center . This allows Dr. Michaels to fill cavities while maintaining the natural appearance of your teeth and avoid dark silver fillings altogether. They can also be used to replace old silver fillings as part of a cosmetic dentistry to drastically improve the overall appearance of your smile.

Crowns & Bridges:

Crown: When teeth are heavily decayed they may be too weak to survive with just a filling. By placing a crown, a tooth may be given a new chance at life.

Bridge: A bridge allows Dr. Michaels to replace lost teeth without the use of a dentures or dental implant. A custom made tooth is held in place by being attached to a tooth next door.

Implants:

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that Dr. Michaels places into your jaw to hold a replacement crown or denture. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or for any other reason. While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Root Canal:

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or that has become infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Extractions:

Dr. Michaels performs the removal of teeth such as baby teeth, wisdom teeth, teeth with severe decay, or for orthodontic purposes.

TMJ Splints:

We offer TMJ Splints that is an acrylic device made to fit on the top teeth to help prevent grinding and clenching.

Diagnosis/NON Surgical Treatment of Gum Disease:

Dr. Michaels will evaluate the health of your gums and teeth with periodontal charting. Ultrasonic instruments, scaling, and root planing are used to clean the bacteria from the root surfaces.

Conscious Sedation:

To make your visit with us more comfortable, we offer laughing gas and prescription medication if needed, which are available at patient request. Just speak with Dr. Michaels about your needs for sedation.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Invisalign Orthodontics:

Dr. Michaels offers Invisalign to straighten your teeth, These aligners are completely transparent, therefore far more difficult to detect than traditional wire and bracket braces. This method is popular for people who want to straighten their teeth without the look of traditional metal braces.

Crowns, Bridges & Venners:

These are used cosmetically to reshape and close gaps between teeth, to improve the look of your smile. Dr. Michaels would be happy to discuss these options with you.

Tooth Colored Fillings:

White fillings, better known as composite or tooth-colored fillings, are offered at Oconomowoc Dental Center . This allows Dr. Michaels to fill cavities while maintaining the natural appearance of teeth and avoid dark silver fillings altogether. They can also be used to replace old silver fillings as part of a cosmetic dentistry to drastically improve the overall appearance of your smile.

Permanent Replacement of Missing Teeth/Tooth:

Dr. Michaels can implant a permanent replacement teeth/tooth. A titanium screw is surgically inserted into the jaw bone to support a crown.

Replace Partial Denture/Secure Full Denture:

A titanium screw is inserted into the jaw bone by Dr. Michaels to support a denture. This procedure is natural looking, secure, and permanent.
